Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey - New Brunswick Expansion
Jan. 2010 - After spending last semester as an interest group, a united assembly of 30 men are currently forming as the founding fathers of a new colony of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity at Rutgers this semester. The group, made up of mostly sophomores, spent their first year at Rutgers exploring the Greek System. They soon found they wanted something different; to be a part of a Fraternity and not a "frat." After researching several National Fraternities, the young men found that Phi Kappa Psi's core value, embodied in its motto "The Great Joy of Serving Others", met their own. Furthermore, the network offered through Phi Psi (over 5,000 alumni in New Jersey alone!) and opportunities at numerous leadership conferences were what this group was looking for. Quickly, local alumni organized and offered their guidance to the group of young men. Now, this spring, the Noble Fraternity, Phi Kappa Psi, returns to Rutgers-New Brunswick after a 14 year absence.
