New Director of Expansion

Fraternity welcomes back Ron Ransom to oversee the expansion and recruitment efforts

April 26, 2011 - Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity Executive Director Shawn M. Collinsworth today announced the hiring of Ronald K. Ransom II Butler '00 as the Fraternity's Director of Expansion. Brother Ransom will officially take over the position on June 21, 2011, in conjunction with the start of the Fraternity's Woodrow Wilson Leadership School in Columbus, Ohio.Ron for News.jpg

This is not Ron's first stint in this position. He previously served as the Fraternity's Director of Expansion from 2006 through spring of 2009, before leaving staff to pursue his master's degree from Ohio University. During his time on staff, Ron oversaw the expansion of Phi Kappa Psi to 13 campuses around the country. He also brought the highly successful Recruitment Boot Camp program to Phi Kappa Psi in 2007. Having just completed the fourth installment, the program has been critical in the Fraternity's education of its members in recruitment skills.

"It is very exciting to welcome Brother Ransom back to our National Staff and we are lucky to have him return," Collinsworth said. "Ron is extremely talented at what he does, and his ability to work well with undergraduates and spread the values of Phi Kappa Psi makes him one of the best in his profession."

Prior to his first stint as Director of Expansion, Ron also served the Fraternity as an Educational Leadership Consultant from 2004-2006. His love of Phi Kappa Psi and the ability to work with students made it hard to pass up the opportunity again.

"I am extremely excited to return to the Headquarters Staff at Phi Kappa Psi and lead our expansion and recruitment programs again," Ransom said. "The Fraternity has given me so much in my life, and to be an integral part of her growth again was an opportunity I could not pass up after finishing my graduate studies."

Ron will return to lead a team that now oversees a record-high 102 chapters, and also five colonies. He replaces Corey Peart Valparaiso '05, who is leaving staff on May 12 to pursue new opportunities in Memphis, Tennessee. After the transition, Ron can be reached at
