The 2012 Grand Arch Council

For the 76th time, Phi Psi members from around the country gathered for governing, recognition and a great time. And for the first time, in Texas!

Everything is bigger in Texas! The 76th Grand Arch Council included a record rainfall (sadly canceling the Founders Cup), but it cleared in time for an incredible President's Reception featuring Clint Black and Emerald City. The biennial governing convention of the Fraternity, the future of Phi Kappa Psi is properly shaped.

Be sure to relive the highlights of the 76th GAC by viewing all of our photos from San Antonio on our Flickr page.

Congratulations to the newly elected officers of Phi Kappa Psi for the 2012-14 biennium. Jim Miller Ohio State '85 is President (SWGP), Scott Noble Texas '81 is Vice President (SWVGP), Jim Boyle Washington '88 is Treasurer (SWP) and Shannon Price Alabama '88 is Secretary (SWAG).

When it was all said and done, a total of 638 people attended the GAC festivities. That makes this summer's gathering the fourth-largest event in Phi Kappa Psi history!

BGCA GAC.jpgOur growing relationship with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America was on full display as well in Texas. Brothers went bowling with kids from the local club and had a wonderful opportunity to learn about the positive work the organization is doing to help some needy youth in the area.

A fundraiser was held with the sale of specially organized PKP/BGCA wristbands and nearly $2,500 was raised to give back to the clubs in San Antonio. It costs only $50 to fund the activities for one child annually, so hopefully this donation will go a long way to providing opportunities for young kids. We still have plenty of wristbands available and they will be sold on the PKP Shop later this fall. The GAC may be about brotherhood and business, but leaving a positive footprint was certainly on the minds of hundreds of brothers in San Antonio.

A highlight of the week is the opportunity to award our members for their hard work throughout the year. Congratulations to this year's winners:

We also have used the audience of the GAC to be the platform to debut some new marketing videos for the Fraternity. We encourage our chapters to take them and use them for recruitment, public relations and promotion. In addition to the Join Us video shared here, we have videos dealing with undergraduate experience, service and scholarship
