Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity Call Invitation

It is no secret that fraternities and their conduct have made too many headlines recently.  This last year-and-a-half has been particularly tough, not only for Phi Kappa Psi, but for all Greek-letter organizations.  Since February 2017, four young men from four different fraternities on four different college campuses have died based in large part on their associations with their respective fraternity. This past semester, Matthew Ellis, a sophomore transfer at Texas State University – San Marcos, who was a member of our Texas Gamma Chapter, became the latest victim of these terrible tragedies.

On December 16-17, 2017 the Executive Council (EC) of Phi Kappa Psi met in an emergency session to discuss the current state of the industry, the implications for Phi Kappa Psi, and to begin taking steps to secure a positive experience for future generations of our members.

On Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. Eastern / 6 p.m. Central / 4 p.m. Pacific, I will be hosting a fireside conference call to share the outcomes of the emergency EC session. Topics to be discussed include:

  • Current state of the industry
  • New member initiation timing and a revised events schedule
  • Updated alcohol policies
  • Additional topics under consideration
  • Q&A

Many of the changes that the EC has embraced will position us to not only help our men do better and improve our organization, but to also lead the necessary change within the industry. We are very much at an inflection point for our Fraternity and for Greek-letter organizations at large.

Registration for the call is required. Upon completion of your registration, you will be sent additional details.

Please join us for this important call, and share the information with others you work with in your efforts to create meaningful experiences for our undergraduate members.  Additionally, the call will be recorded for future reference.

I look forward to your involvement. Thank you in advance for your passion to make Phi Kappa Psi better!
