Phi Kappa Psi Statement on Swarthmore College

Indianapolis (April 19, 2019) – The Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity Headquarters staff became aware of a story published in The (Swarthmore College) Phoenix detailing the conduct of a local fraternity going by the name of Phi Psi. This group is not affiliated with the national Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, and there has not been a recognized chapter on-campus for over 50 years. 

While we have no affiliation with this group, we are nevertheless appalled and shocked by their actions. In contrast, the membership of Phi Kappa Psi is diverse, and our policies have never restricted ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or physical ability. From day one of their affiliation, members are taught to treat all people with dignity and respect. We take pride in and celebrate the diversity of our great Fraternity and the positive contributions our members are making to society every day.
