RECRUITMENT TOOL UPDATES
To make it easier to identify and connect with Potential New Members (PNMs), the Recruitment Tool in the Phi Psi Portal now includes a tagging system. These tags highlight how each PNM was introduced to your group, giving you more context as you engage with them.
Currently, there are two primary types of tags you will see: Scholarship Applicants and Referrals from Members.
Scholarship Applicants
You may notice PNMs in your Recruitment Tool tagged as “Scholarship Applicant.” These individuals are high school graduates who applied for the 2025 Men’s College Scholarship, a national program supported by the Fraternities Matter Campaign and the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence.
Each applicant indicated their intended college, and we matched them with the appropriate Phi Psi group. That means:
- They now appear in your Recruitment Tool with their email.
- They are tagged as “Scholarship Applicant.”
- While they didn’t apply specifically to Phi Psi, their application already shows an interest in fraternity life.
Referrals from Members
In addition to scholarship applicants, you’ll also see PNMs tagged through referrals. Referrals are one of the most effective recruitment tools, as they come directly from brothers and friends across the country.
When someone submits a referral through our national form, the PNM is automatically added to the Recruitment Tool for the appropriate group and tagged as “Referred by [Brother’s Name].”
While referrals are an important part of recruitment, groups are not required to extend membership based on a recommendation or legacy status. Every Potential New Member is given equal consideration, and each group makes its own decision on who is offered a bid. You can read the Fraternity’s full policy on referrals and legacy recommendations here.
