HUNTER’S FUND
Hunter’s Fund is committed to empowering young individuals by supporting their diverse talents and providing financial resources to explore their passions. The organization also aims to reduce accidents caused by distracted driving by promoting safe driving habits among youth.
WHO’S HUNTER?
Hunter Brooks Watson Syracuse ’15 was a Phi Psi just like all of us. Son of Jerry Watson Alabama ’64, Hunter embraced his fraternal legacy and found his home in our brotherhood at Syracuse University’s New York Beta Chapter.
Hunter majored in Information Management and Technology. He became interested in computers, Internet technology and related areas at an early age and continually experimented with ideas for web-based businesses. Hunter was also passionate and knowledgeable about music, sports, video production, and Phi Kappa Psi. He enjoyed following University of Alabama football, and attended several games a year with his father.
Tragically, Hunter lost his life as a passenger in a distracted driving accident before his junior year.

PHI PSI COLLABORATION FROM THE BEGINNING
In response to his passing, Hunter’s entire pledge class attended his memorial service, and his father’s chapter brothers from Alabama Alpha performed the Rite of Committal at his graveside. His Syracuse brothers returned to campus with purpose, collecting funds to create an on-campus safe driving program.
This program evolved into Hunter’s Fund, which now works to reduce accidents caused by distracted driving while also honoring Hunter’s creative spirit. What started on one campus has grown organically, with Hunter’s Fund now becoming our official philanthropy.

HUNTER’S PLEDGE TO END DISTRACTED DRIVING
Hunter’s Fund is working to change the behavior of young people in memory of Hunter by signing Hunter’s Pledge, a pledge to stop distracted driving.
Phi Psi groups across the nation are working with the Hunter’s Fund and are organizing Safe Driving Week and pledge-signing campaigns on their campuses to change driving behavior through Hunter’s Pledge.
