NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP MONTH:
PREPARING FOR PHI PSI NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
November is National Scholarship Month, and its never too early to prepare for Phi Psi’s National Scholarship application.
Applications for 2026 National Scholarships + Fellowships will open January 15. All brothers in good standing are eligible to apply, whether you’re an undergraduate, graduate student, or pursuing post-graduate opportunities. Scholarships ranging from $1,400 to $7,500 will be awarded.
Application Checklist: What You’ll Need
Get a head start to gather materials and reflect on your accomplishments. Here’s what you’ll need for your application:
- Two references
- Types of community service + total service hours for the year
- Work history
- Leadership history (both in and out of Phi Psi)
- Transcript
What to Expect in the Application
Your application will include a few short essays (150 words or less each). These short essays help us learn more about who you are, what drives you, and how you live out Phi Psi’s values.
Below are the exact questions you will be asked in the application:
- Pick one attribute from the Creed that truly fits you. Then show it in action with real examples of how you embody that attribute in your daily life through your actions, choices, and leadership.
- We want to hear your goals – educational, career, or both. If you have a clear path, outline the steps you plan to take (degrees, internships, certifications). If you’re still exploring, share the possibilities you are considering and how you might figure them out. Make sure to show the impact! In your essay, explain how these goals could contribute to your field or community and matter in the world today.
- Tell us what “The Great Joy of Serving Others” means to you. Share a real example of how you’ve lived this value and how service has impacted you and those around you.
- How would you rate your current financial stress level (1 = low, 5 = high)? Tell us what factors contribute to that stress and how it impacts your college experience or goals.
