CHAPTER NEWS – DISTRICT I

13 CHAPTERS | 1 COLONY

Delaware Alpha – Delaware

Submitted By: Ryan Morosanu ’24

Our brothers have remained actively engaged in philanthropy, making a meaningful impact both on and off campus. We participated in the UDance fundraiser, joining the campus-wide effort to raise money for children battling cancer. Through dedicated outreach and various on campus fundraising events, we donated $7,046. In addition, the chapter hosted its own successful philanthropy event, Phi Psichedelic, where members sold custom tie-dyed shirts and handmade bracelets on campus. The creative and vibrant event not only raised funds for pediatric cancer support but also brought students together in unity and service.

Submitted By: Francis Pierce ’22

Our chapter had its first retreat in Acadia National Park in Maine. It was a great, restful weekend, and we hope to continue it in the future. We raised funds for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, reclaiming our spot as the highest fundraising fraternity on campus. We also continued our work with the Gift of Life’s bone marrow registry and are looking forward to more opportunities to grow in the fall.

We at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Colony are thrilled to join the Phi Kappa Psi brotherhood. What drew us in were the authenticity and positive experiences shared by other chapters, and we’re excited for the journey ahead as we work toward chartering. With 40 active brothers and a five-story house just outside Boston, we’re eager to contribute to the values and culture that make Phi Kappa Psi so unique.

New Jersey Gamma – Rutgers

Submitted By: Kenneth Hirado ’24

We have set a goal to recruit 15 next semester as we continue to strengthen our presence on campus. While no major events were held this term, we made efforts toward initiating the Hunter’s Fund project and received a few early donations, showing promise for future engagement. Our chapter continues to be involved in service and leadership despite some challenges. We would like to highlight Brother Brandon Huang ’23 for his outstanding contributions. Brandon has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to address and resolve multiple internal issues affecting the Fraternity. His dedication, leadership, and persistence have helped preserve the chapter’s stability and direction during a difficult period. His actions reflect the values and resilience we strive for as a brotherhood.

New Jersey Epsilon – Rowan

Submitted By: Michael Hamberlin ’25

This past semester we celebrated a huge milestone, reaching our 25th anniversary at Rowan University. On April 25-26, 2025, more than 100 alumni and their spouses were able to reconnect with current undergraduate brothers in Glassboro. We had many events bringing new and older alumni back to see what the chapter has become. Throughout the semester we had many successes, including our philanthropy, membership, and intramural events. Some examples being brother football and soccer tournaments with other organizations, hot chocolate and baked goods sales, sorority pageants and other fundraising events. We are infinitely proud of our graduating brothers as they open a new chapter in their lives. These proud members will never forget the lessons they learned as brothers of Phi Kappa Psi. We look forward to seeing our District I brothers later this summer for our biennial district council meeting.

Pennsylvania Eta – F&M

Submitted By: Lee Goldberg ’24

Spring semester can be summarized by three things: history, tradition, and philanthropy. The history segment surrounds our historian’s closet. Our historian cataloged and dug up Phi Psi artifacts in our house that date back to the 1860s. We have now thoroughly organized and documented everything. For tradition, we returned to Gettysburg for initiation — one of our oldest and most valued chapter customs. We held seven philanthropy events and raised thousands of dollars, the most we have raised in years.

Pennsylvania Sigma – Saint Joseph’s

Submitted By: JW Scollins ’24

The PA Sigma Chapter enjoyed a historic spring semester where we increased our reputation and reach on Hawk Hill. We had the honor of introducing our Alpha Phi class of 15 distinguished young men; the largest initiation class for our chapter in recent memory. While building for the present and future, we also embraced our tradition and roots by hosting a barbecue for our alumni. It was a wonderful event with a great turn out and symbolized the integration of our chapter’s rich history with our bright future at Saint Joseph’s. We would like to recognize Brother Martin Nguyen ’22, District I Archon and graduating senior, whose contributions to this chapter cannot be overstated. Other graduating seniors from our chapter include: Declan Burke ’22, Nicholas Barskiy ’22, Joe Kepic ’22, Brendon Chin ’23, and Ian Glass ’23.

Rhode Island Beta – URI

Submitted By: John Colleran ’23

This semester we were able to accomplish something we had never done before. Led by our philanthropy team, and freshman Chairman Charlie Lemieux ’24, we were able to hold a huge Phi Psi trivia night to raise money in honor of one of our brothers who got the news that his mother was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. Unfortunately, this led to him withdraw from school. Our brotherhood rallied in his name, raising $5,162 in a short time! Through it all we got the support of chapters around the nation and were able to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer, something that impacts everyone greatly. As we move forward, we aim to continue providing our members with the support and guidance to garner excellence.
