Our alumni newsletter, The Hawkeye, highlighted our recent accomplishments, and this issue also included an alumni spotlight on Brothers John Greenwood ’00 and Brand Newland ’00, who co-founded Goldfinch Health along with Mike Doty ’10 to combat the opioid crisis. On campus, we raised a record $28,637 for Dance Marathon, the highest total among all Greek organizations, and partnered with Iowa Reach to connect with individuals with developmental disabilities through community events. We have a newly uncovered 19th-century chapter photograph that connect today’s brothers to our earliest roots. We invite you to “Save the Date” for Alumni Weekend, October 10-12, 2025. This past semester, we participated in lots of community service events alongside a philanthropy to help raise money for Cultivating Hope Farms, an inclusive care farm. This was led by Ryan Greteman ‘23 and Noah Seibert ‘23 and raised over $4,000. The two big community service events the brothers participated in were the Iowa State Blood Drive, and Dance Marathon. Many brothers held positions within these two organizations such as Drew Szalat ‘22, as the membership director for Dance Marathon. For the Iowa State Blood Drive, Kyle Nord held the position of co-director along with Jack White ‘21 and Ryan Droogsma ‘22, who were a part of the executive team and leading partnership and outreach.

Kansas Alpha – Kansas

We have signed a full pledge class by the end of April, which marks significant success within our house and the Rush process. This achievement reflects the hard work of the recruitment chairs and active members. In addition, focused on giving back to our local community in Lawrence. We partnered with Just Food to participate in their campus food drive. In one week, our chapter managed to fill an entire donation can, equivalent to raising over $500 worth of food to help fight food insecurity in our area. Because of efforts from members of our sophomore pledge class, we’re already preparing to fill a second can to continue supporting this meaningful cause. This demonstrates our commitment to service and philanthropy alongside our efforts to strengthen our chapter. Additionally, we are proud to recognize Andrew Murga ‘22, a junior finance major, who was recently elected student body class president, which shows our leadership extends beyond the chapter.

Minnesota Beta – UMN Twin Cities

Submitted By: Sam Richter ‘23

The brothers of Minnesota Beta have continued their strong philanthropic efforts, raising over $18,000 across the fall and spring semesters. These funds supported meaningful causes such as Dr. Leonard’s research fund and Folds of Honor—a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled U.S. military service members and first responders. With our nearly doubled chapter size, thanks to a large new member class, we have expanded the impact of our philanthropy events and continue to refine our efforts to maximize donations and community outreach.

Submitted By: Alexander Cienciwa ‘22

We are proud to announce a semester filled with achievement, service, and brotherhood. We’re honored to have been named Chapter of the Year at the MNSU, in recognition of the dedication, leadership, and unity that defines our chapter. We made significant strides toward completing the Phi Psi 500, logging hundreds of volunteer hours through impactful service both on campus and in the greater Twin Cities community. One of our proudest moments was joining fellow Greek organizations in raising over $10,000 for Gillette Children’s Hospital. Through collaborative events and passionate outreach, we contributed to a cause that brings real hope and healing to children and families. As always, our chapter remains committed to the core values of Phi Kappa Psi — honor, integrity, and service. We’re proud of the work we’ve done and excited to continue building a legacy of impact and brotherhood. Live Ever. Die Never.

The spring semester was massive for Nebraska Alpha; in the spring, we were luckily able to continue to grow as we successfully initiated four new members. This year, our chapter excelled in the classroom as we had a very successful scholarship banquet, which allowed us to acknowledge brothers who thrived this academic year. The first week of April, we hosted Hunter’s Fund on campus and hosted Phi Psi Sundaes which were both very successful. To end the semester, we hosted our Chicago Formal, where we were able to go explore Chicago, and have a beautiful ride on a boat in the Mississippi River. This year has been amazing, but we are all very excited for the future as we plan to expand the lovely brotherhood of Phi Kappa Psi!
